WST Principal Named to 2022 Virginia 500 Power List
Virginia Business, a Richmond-based publication dedicated to covering economic activity in every sector and region of the state, has published its 2022 500 Power List which recognizes the commonwealth’s top leaders in business, government, and higher education across more than 20 industry categories. WST is pleased to announce that Lawrence Bernert III, CFA, Principal at WST, has been named to this year's list for the Finance category.
Virginia Business strives to inventory the most powerful movers and shakers in Virginia across 20 different sectors for the 500 Power List. The list is subjectively put together through thoughtful research of current Virginia leaders by analyzing various determining factors, including but not limited to the overall position of the leader, company revenue, number of employees overseen, the scope of responsibilities, prominence within the community, board memberships, and philanthropic commitments.
About Lawrence Bernert III, CFA
Principal and Portfolio Manager, Larry joined the firm in 1995, five years after WST was founded. He sits on the Investment Committee and previously served as the firm’s Director of Research.
Larry graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor's in English Literature, undertaking study at Cambridge University in England while pursuing that degree. He received an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Larry is active as a Board member for the Norfolk Innovation Corridor and the Employees Retirement System of the City of Norfolk, where he chairs the System’s Investment Committee. He also serves as a Trustee and Investment Committee Chair at Norfolk Academy, and as the Board Chair of the Children's Health Foundation, which supports the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters.
