WST Controller Named Finalist for VA Business Annual CFO Awards
Wilbanks Smith & Thomas is pleased to announce that Ana Gomes, CPA has been named a Finalist for VA Business' 17th annual CFO Awards. This year, over 50 CFOs were nominated from around the commonwealth and placed into four award categories: large nonprofits, large for-profits, small non-profits, and small for-profits (public and private). Nominated organizations ranged from universities to arts organizations, technology firms, banks, wealth management firms and Fortune 500 companies.
The 51 nominees were narrowed down to just 4 winners, one per category, and 13 finalists total, ranging from 1 - 5 finalists in each category. Gomes was named as a Finalist for the 2022 Small Company category, along with two other finalists.
Ana Gomes serves as WST' Controller. She was welcomed to the firm in late 2020 after her tenure as Controller at Indel Power Group where she led all accounting, treasury and financial reporting for the company.
Ana was born and raised in Brazil before moving to the U.S. for college. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M CC where she studied Marketing, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (for Accounting) and a Master of Science in Accounting from Old Dominion University. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the Virginia Society of CPAs.
