10th Annual Stone Soup Event | WST & Women United

NORFOLK, VA | April 30, 2021 - Wilbanks Smith & Thomas Asset Management, LLC had the pleasure of joining Women United of South Hampton Roads for their annual Stone Soup event held on Saturday, April 17th, 2021 at the Tidewater Volleyball Association. WST team members, Women United members and families came together to make over 400 casseroles and 600 bagged lunches to serve 13 local non-profit agencies, including shelters, soup kitchens, and food pantries. The meals are made in an effort to feed approximately 2,500 individuals experiencing hunger in the South Hampton Roads community.

Women United is a local network of more than 900 women leaders dedicated to transforming the lives of women and children in South Hampton Roads. The 10th annual Stone Soup was the first in-person event the organization held since the start of COVID-19 - practicing safety guidelines by breaking volunteers into time slots to keep groups small, providing fresh masks, keeping the facility well-ventilated, and providing hand sanitization as well as latex gloves.

WST was the primary sponsor of the 10th annual Stone Soup event and provided Women United with a number of employees along with their friends and family members to help with meal preparation and collecting food and ingredient donations.
